Zane Booker

Zane Booker, emerging from the Philadelphia School of Dance Arts, founded the Smoke, Lilies and Jade Arts Initiative in 2006, advocating for HIV/AIDS awareness. As Assistant Rehearsal Director at Philadanco, his enduring influence on the dance world is remarkable. Shifting to community engagement, Brown Street Cafe, a fixture in Brown's ShopRite since November 2022, actively participates in local initiatives, including the United We Heal Film Festival. This cafe not only promotes specialty coffee and collaborates with Mt. Hebron Baptist Church for outreach but also proudly showcases products from Black women-led businesses. From made-to-order breakfast sandwiches to hosting monthly events, the cafe creates a unique blend of art, dance, and community support, embodying both Zane Booker's legacy and the vibrant spirit of Brown Street Cafe.
